Active Directory Administration
Active Directory (AD) acts like the central brain of a network, especially in Windows environments. It keeps track of everything and everyone connected, like users, computers, printers, and more. AD can do a whole lot, including: Managing Users and Computers: This is where you create user accounts, set passwords, and control who can access what. (This is what we'll be focusing on in this module!) Group Policy: Imagine setting the same rules for everyone in a classroom. Group Policy lets you define settings like security restrictions, software installation, and desktop configurations for entire groups of users or computers. Certificate Management: Just like needing an ID card to borrow a library book, some resources require digital certificates for access. AD can handle creating, storing, and managing these certificates. Other Services: There's even more! AD can manage network printers, control access to remote resources, and even help with network security. While AD is super powerful, this module will focus on the basics: learning how to manage users and computers. This is a crucial skill for keeping your network organized and secure!
